The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Noosa

What’s the best thing to do in Noosa, QLD? Well, apart from the amazing beaches where you can swim and relax, this flashy tropical destination also has lots of trendy and casual restaurants and bars where you can dine and have a great time with friends and family. Whether you want to eat cheaply, or whether you’d like to go for the budget-busting meals, there are lots of places in Noosa to lure you off your beach towel, literally. Here’s a look at a few of the best places to eat noosa.

Larder and Baked

What’s not to love about Noosa? From its long stretches of golden shores to its dazzling waters and forests full of endemic, native species, there’s just something for everyone to enjoy in this lovely piece of paradise.

And if you’re looking for amazing places to eat noosa, Noosa is also fast becoming a haven for foodies of all beliefs and persuasions, with heaps of cool, vibrant restaurants which are popping all over town. And one of them includes Larder and Baked.

Larder and Baked is a popular concept café which has been serving yummy and aesthetically-pleasing meals since 2018. The team of chefs and cooks at this restaurant creates everything from scratch, which ensures a tasty and playful spin on the usual breakfast, lunch and dinner fare.

At Larder and Baked, think of fresh and inventive bowls of salads, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, coffee and gourmet sandwiches. Larder and Baked is located at 1/29 Sunshine Road, Noosa Heads.

Canteen

If you’re in the market for something traditional, yet super tasty, then Canteen is the place for you. This restaurant is one of the oldest urban cafes in Noosa, and is nearly filled with chatter for most of the day.

The restaurant’s Canteen Classic menu is composed of all the yummy stuff that you’re used to seeing and tasting like bacon and eggs breakfast burgers, poached eggs and jalapeno corn fritters, smashed avocado on toast, smashed peas and goat’s cheese bruschetta, barbecue belly omelet and ice-cold organic acai bowl. Now, isn’t there something for the both the traditional and more experimental foodie here?

Bang Bang Noosa

While Noosa is best for al fresco dining, if the weather is not in your favour sometimes, then there are lots of excellent indoor places to eat noosa, like in Bang Bang Noosa! Located at the center of Hastings Street, this restaurant will make you feel like you’ve literally been transported to an uber chic resto in Melbourne, but mixed with a sunny, tropical Coast vibe.

Bang Bang Noosa is dimly-lit and has that old-world feel because of its candles, chandelier and distressed plaster walls. Its South East Asian-inspired menu also bursts with fresh, vibrant and truly yummy flavours, from the Thai-style curry to the “bang-quet”, where you get to try out 6 or 7 detectable courses.

Here, you can also have your fill of The Harvest Moon cocktail with gin, kaffir lime, lemongrass, elderflower and fruit, which I definitely assure is the perfect palate-cleansing accompaniment!

Light Years

One of the newest and best places to eat noosa is Light Years, which has a personality that will hit you as soon as you walk through the door. This charming, vibrant and truly yummy restaurant is actually one of the best places to go for those “main character” vibes.

Light Years features a modern Asian cuisine with dishes that are saliva-inducing and bold in flavour. It also has delicious cocktails that will have customers saying “okay, just one more” another three times. This restaurant truly promises, and delivers, a unique culinary experience to diners!

Jimmy Fox

With a makeshift sign, eco-paper plates, bamboo cutlery and a butcher’s paper on the wall, that’s all that’s needed to impress customers at Jimmy Fox. And, with a famous chef at the helm, Jason Cox, this street food café changes up the menu daily.

However, one thing remains, and that’s the gourmet burgers, which are loaded up on soft home-made buns, along with excellent coffee and a lengthy juice and smoothie menu. And of course, don’t forget the pulled pork tacos, which are hands down one of the best in town!

Noosa Beach House by Peter Kuruvita

Chef Peter Kuruvita took over the old Cato’s Bar & Grill at the Sheraton Noosa in 2013, and has transformed the place into something intimate and tasty.  One hot tip – Do order the seared yellow fin tuna with ruby grapefruit, sweet pork and crackling for starters, as well as save some for the dessert tasting plate, especially if you just can’t live with a cloud-like soufflé in your life!

Bombetta

The town’s resident Italian eatery is housed at Bombetta. For both kids and adults, this is the go-to restaurant for a mind-blowing Mediterranean meal. For starters, the focaccia is very warm and freshly baked, with a drizzle of Italian herbs and olive oil.

Their mains however are not anything to be disregarded, as the pan-fried gnocchi with sautéed asparagus, snow peas, watercress and manchego just feels like soft little pillows of heavenly pleasure!

Miss Moneypenny’s

Miss Moneypenny’s is also one of the best places to eat noosa, where the coastal cool and vibe plays out perfectly. The restaurant caters to a slightly younger crowd, however it amps-up the vibes for both young and not-so-old at the Noosa Woods once the weekend comes.

You and your mates should be more than filled up with the antipasto board, while you’ll also drown in hot cantimpalo salad and freshly-baked ciabatta. And, if you’d like to share, this should be a great time to order the truffle pies or truffle mac and cheese with prosciutto crumbs! Miss Moneypenny’s is located at 6 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads.
